Taking a bath is the perfect way to give yourself some TLC and ensure you are relaxed the night before your wedding. Spend some quality time with your bridesmaids before your special day by having a mini pamper session with your favourite girls. Put on some hydrating face masks and get a manicure, pedicure and massage expert to give yourself and your bridesmaids a relaxing night in. Also, use this quality time to laugh, chat and enjoy your bridesmaids company before the big day.
Here at Homebodii, we love practicing yoga as a way to de-stress and focus on the present. The night before your wedding, engage in some simple yoga poses and stretches (don’t go overboard, you don’t want to hurt yourself before the big day). More importantly, use this as an opportunity to concentrate on your breathing and controlling it. Drinking water the night before your wedding will help re-energise you and is perfect for hydrating your skin before your special day.
This may be a post about the ‘night’ before your wedding but in the days leading up to and the night before, eat meals that are going to give you lasting energy, will refrain from making you feel bloated and will help in keeping your skin nourished for the special day.
On the night before your wedding, eat a meal that is full of healthy food items such as fresh fruit and vegetables and avoid junk food.
Pack a small bag of items that may be needed in the case of an emergency on the big day. Pack some foldable ballet flats, band aids, hair ties, deodorant, mints or breath spray, tissues, bobby pins, blotting paper (to get rid of any unwanted oil on the face during picture time!), small sewing kit, spare phone charger, cash and information and phone numbers related to the wedding vendors and family and friends.
Packing an emergency kit the night before will help you relax on the morning of the wedding and will help you feel under control, should anything go wrong.
Even if you have your bridesmaids with you, you should still consider calling another special family member or friend the night before and have a chat about how you feel and just generally catch up with that special someone.
Perhaps it’s your Mum or Dad, sibling, grandparents or a friend from work. Either way, give them a call and share how your feeling right at that moment. More often than not, a conversation with a loved one will help you relax and leave you feeling content and connected.
Put on a movie and feel yourself relax further. Whether it be a comedy, romance or a movie that leaves you feeling nostalgic, choose one that has a happy ending and is guaranteed to make you smile.
