A little about me...

My name is Lynden Blake! I’m a bride from Alabama, USA. I am a news anchor, sideline reporter for college basketball and football, dog mom, lake girl, and now a WIFE! My husband and I love singing karaoke and are pretty much down for any adventure. We met on Hinge! Shoutout to the apps… and pretty much knew right away that this was going to go somewhere. So to all my ladies… keep swiping!

Our approach to planning the wedding was…

Our approach to planning the wedding was to keep it simple, fun, and true to us. We got married on beautiful Lake Martin in Alabama, my hometown. I planned the wedding myself… something I’ll truly cherish forever because every detail I felt like had our families’ fingerprints on it. From the invitations to the decorated bottle of Veuve to my Dad singing our first dance song… I wanted to incorporate family in everything.

Looking back on the day we are so glad that we…

Looking back on the day we are so glad we split up the rehearsal dinner and wedding day with a fun wedding party boat day in between!! It was such a relaxing way to enter the wedding day. All of us felt rejuvenated! But also, hear me out… we had blow-up microphones at the reception haha! I mentioned we loved singing karaoke earlier, so during the reception, we had blow-up microphones for everyone to sing into along with the band, and it was perfect! Oh, and getting a margarita truck was a huge hit as well!

The most unexpected part of the day was…

The most unexpected part of the day was how many people raved about the food? We went casual and wanted our favorite foods so we had a macaroni and cheese bar, hot dog bar, sliders bar, and appetizer bar with chips and dip. Super casual. But great food to eat while sipping on some brews! Don’t have to go super posh to make it a crowd-pleaser!

When I look back on the day now I feel…

When I look back on the day now I feel at peace. The day was so fun. The weekend was amazing. It was two friend groups coming together from all over the states in a small town in Alabama. We sang, we danced, we jumped off cliffs. A party I’ll never forget!

A word of advice to new brides would be…

A word of advice to new brides would be: if you make the day truly about you, your partner, and your relationship you will have no regrets. A wedding is such a special event. But always remember it’s just a moment in time and life is full of wonderful moments in time so don’t put too much pressure on yourself!

My Homebodii moment was special because and I wore…

My Homebodii moment was special because I wore the Brooklyn Bodysuit and the Saskia Long Lace Robe! I wanted an iconic and classic look while getting ready and I honestly couldn’t have picked a better pair than these too. They photographed so well. I felt like a Hollywood actress!
